In the midst of World War II, Jan Karski was dispatched by the Polish Underground to inform Western Allies about the reign of terror in German Nazi-occupied Poland and to seek intervention. The travelling exhibition, The World Knew: Jan Karski’s Mission for Humanity – created by the Polish History Museum with assistance from the Jan Karski Educational Foundation – opened at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain in June 2014.
